FIRE

They know they can't fight
nor can they play with it
so they switch off
the line and let it spread
swallowing years in streets

blame the sufferers
short-circuit the system
in self-interest

say it contains all
leads gods, humans, elements
annihilating
liberating, recreating
sustaing time, memory, truth

no use awakening
the sleeping mystics
or lamenting the loss of weeds
but seeds if cultivated
can open the Red Sea again

KARMIC CHAKRA

Post-retirement
awakens inner spirit:
karmic chakra
from sexual loneliness
to insecurities turn

inner fears into
faith cross-legging prayers
climaxing love
visionary hope, wisdom
narrative of helplessness

RKSingh

RKSingh is a real poet
Living in an imaginary world
For he did not opt for
Pension, oblivious of
Hiding pain that
Would crop up with
Hoary head and creaky bones.

RKSingh is a real poet
Lamenting on the lost libido.
On his best half losing charm
And pleasures of the youth.

RKSingh is a real poet
For not being in company
Of chest beating, wallowing
And slogan mongering fascists.
Nor among the rigid white capped
Bearded goatees with jhubbas.
Nor those carrying a sacrificial cross.

RKSingh is a real poet.
Now, he will hibernate for Nirvana.

PS:  poem composed on reading Sexless Solitude

With apologies
Wishing happy retirement

Chhath by Prof. Dr. Ram Krishna Singh

Chhath by Prof. Dr. Ram Krishna Singh

They light crackers
from early dawn to welcome
the chhath sunrise:
half-wet women stand in the pond
to offer arghya to the first rays

CHILL

hot on the trail with youth
she scales up the heights of dream
& leaves me stunned with chill
